“Nathan Has helped tremendously in developing the skills that have impacted my performance at the highest level. He has taught me new skills that allow me to score at all 3 levels whilst also help me play make for others which as a point guard is extremely important. I wouldn’t be the player I am today without the dedication and knowledge Nathan brings to our sessions.”

“I’ve been working with Nathan for about 5-6 years and not only has he been a great trainer on the court, he has done a great job mentoring me off the court aswell. The professionalism and knowledge he brings to each session has been top level and immensely helpful."

About head skills coach Nathan Poelsma

I was always that kid who was really skilled but never felt I got the credit I deserved. I would train for hours every day before and after school and would feel sick to my stomach if I ever went just 12 hours without training.

Yet I still never made a state team or state development program. Then one day it hit me….

I wasn’t training the right way. I Was doing stupid gimmicky drills with cones and fancy dribble moves which made me look cool in training but at the end of the day wasn’t doing anything to give me game results.

After this realisation I changed my approach and I started working on “game moves” and incorporated decision making drills into my training and the results quickly came.

My goal is to stop other kids like me from making the same mistakes I did by teaching them the proper way to train at an early age so they can go much further than me in their basketball careers.
